Why blankets and quilts are hard to clean at home
A double quilt can weigh several kilos dry and far more when wet — more than most home machines can spin properly. Filling that stays damp in the middle smells musty within days in Mumbai’s humidity. Cleaning them professionally means they are washed or dry cleaned according to the filling and fully dried before they come back.
When to clean winter woolens
Clean blankets, sweaters and jackets before you put them away, not when you take them out. Body oils and food spots left on wool attract moths and set into stains over months in storage.
- Store cleaned woolens in cotton bags or wrapped in old sheets, not airtight plastic.
- Add a few neem leaves or cedar blocks to the cupboard rather than placing naphthalene directly on fabric.
- Air stored blankets on a sunny day after the monsoon to remove damp smells.
Baby blankets and pillows
Baby blankets (₹149) and pillows (₹149 small, ₹199 large) are cleaned separately in their own drum like every order.
