Which clothes need dry cleaning?
Dry cleaning cleans fabric without soaking it in water, so it is the safe choice for anything that shrinks, loses shape or bleeds colour in a normal wash. Check the care label: a circle symbol means professional dry cleaning.
- Suits, blazers, waistcoats and sherwanis — water can distort the inner lining and structure.
- Silk, zari, velvet and embroidered ethnic wear.
- Wool coats and heavy sweaters.
- Leather jackets.
- Anything labelled “dry clean only”.
Why per-item pricing
Dry-clean garments are handled one piece at a time, so the price depends on the garment, not its weight. A heavy embroidered sherwani needs far more handwork than a plain kurta, which is why the rate card separates plain, medium and heavy pieces.
Before you hand over your clothes
- Point out stains and tell us what caused them if you know — oil, wine and turmeric each need a different treatment.
- Mention loose buttons, beads or sequins so they can be checked before cleaning.
- Empty pockets and remove brooches or detachable pins.
